The impending Supreme Court decision on gay marriage makes this year's 40th annual Capital Pride celebration even more historic in recognizing the past, and celebrating the future of the LGBT community.
This year's festivities are a blast from the past, with a number of "flashback" events recognizing the history of gay pride in D.C., including Friday's Flashback Opening Dance Party, which officially kicked off the weekend's festivities.
Saturday's Capital Pride Parade featured everyone from drag queens to politicians, as well as nearly 200 floats, vehicles and entertainers.

Sunday's another day of celebration, with a festival and concert taking over Pennsylvania Avenue from 1 to 9 p.m.
The Capital Pride Festival will include an impressive 300 tents featuring community groups, food vendors and local businesses that will stretch down and across Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd and 7th streets.

Live performances will take place on three different stages throughout the day, featuring '80s and '90s flashbacks -- En Vogue and Wilson Phillips are set ending with Katy Tiz and Carly Rae Jepsen. The concert is free, but you'll need VIP tickets for access to the stage pit, a private bar and free beer and wine in the beverage garden. Those tickets are available online.
